Rob Zellers has been the Education Director at Pittsburgh Public Theater for 19 years. Over this time he has created numerous theater education programs and worked with thousands of students in acting, playwriting and technical theater, bringing the work of Pittsburgh Public Theater and its many fine artists together with the community. Rob is also an adjunct faculty member at Point Park University since 1996. Rob's plays include: The Red Cat; Harry’s Friendly Service (O’Neill Theater Conference semifinalist, 2007); The Kitchen (Pittsburgh Playwrights Theater, 2006); The Chief co-author with Gene Collier (Pittsburgh Public Theater 2003-07; Jennerstown Mountain Playhouse, 2005).
Rob's play Safekeeping (O’Neill Theater Conference semi-finalist, 2006) is VTP's first runner-up this year and will receive a staged-reading at The Ring Theatre at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on January 28, 2008.
